"Dear Kate,Thank you for your email, I'm so pleased you still have some seeds in stock. When I read your comments about growing hollyhocks at Blakeney I felt as if I was meeting a kindred spirit! My sister lives at Charmouth & the hollyhocks growing in the high street are such a beautiful feature I've suggested to the parish council they might be listed as a local heritage asset to preserve them for the future, should anyone decide they look 'untidy'. Here in Dorchester we have an ugly road junction near Dorchester West train station which would be an ideal site to grow hollyhocks. It's a spur of land which dominates the junction & is currently used for car parking. There are several metres of iron railings around the perimeter & I hope to grow the hollyhocks against the railings. I have already talked to one of our local town councillors who is trying to find out who owns the land so everything can be above board & the hollyhocks can be looked after. I was delighted to read that you have seeds of the single flowered variety as i prefer them to the doubles & hopefully they will be more resilient to rust. All good wishes & thanks,Linda"
