Welcome to Gardeners Cottage – Blakeney Bin Collection Guide

We’re delighted to have you staying with us! To help keep the cottage tidy and everything running smoothly, please follow these simple bin instructions.

🗓 Bin Collection Day

  • Bin collections are early Monday morning.

  • Please place your rubbish in the bins on Sunday evening to ensure they are emptied.

  • Both bins should be placed at the bottom of the drive on Coronation Lane.

📍 Where to Put the Bins

  • Both bins should be placed at the bottom of the drive on Coronation Lane.

  • You’ll find the bins on the drive when you arrive — please leave them where they are for collection.

♻️ Which Bin Is Which?

  • Green bin – Recycling

    • Remove items from bags and place loose in the green bin.

  • Black / Dark Grey bin – General rubbish

    • All general rubbish that can not be recycled, including nappies and dog poo, should be bagged securely before putting it in this bin. Please double bag nappies and dog waste so there is no risk of them breaking open in the bin.

    • There is also a dog poo bin in the public car park on Blakeney High Street just off Coronation lane for disposal of dog poo. A supply of black bin bags are provided at the cottage underneath the sink in kitchen.

♻️ What Can Go in the Green Recycling Bin?

Please place these items loose, not bagged:

  • Recyclable plastics

  • Glass bottles and jars

  • Paper and newspapers

  • Cardboard

  • Tins and cans

Please Note: Bin collection days in Blakeney may be shifted around bank holidays, including Christmas, New Year, Easter, and other public holidays. To ensure your rubbish and recycling are collected, we recommend placing the rubbish and recycling out on the evening before the usual Monday collection day and checking for any local updates. Thank you for helping us keep Gardeners Cottage tidy during your stay!

There is also a bottle bank in Blakeney located at the Village Hall in Blakeney. If your stay produces a large number of bottles, you are welcome to use this facility. All revenue raised from the bottles goes directly to Blakeney Parish, supporting local community projects and initiatives.
