Cottage Garden English Native Bluebell

We have been growing Bluebells in the farm garden for many years. They came with the house and are also widespread in the woodland strip edging the lane. The shiny black seeds germinate reliably but occasionally throw off a surprise pink or white flowered plant

Forms a self-supporting clump with upright flower stems around 1-foot tall, masses of drooping flowers in Late May and early June

Why Grow Bluebells?

  • 🏡 Ideal for Cottage Gardens – A traditional heirloom cottage garden flower, perfect for rustic mixed self-seeding and replicating cottage gardens.

  • The wonderful scent!
  • Bees love it in early Spring

Growing Information:

  • ☀️ Position: Ideal Dappled shade and tolerates very poor and gravel-filled soils

  • 📏 Spacing: Grow in small clumps, divide bulbs after 4-5 years

  • 🌾 Harvest: seed from brown seed pods in July and spread around the garden, or leave to seed naturally
