Cottage Garden Bronze Fennel Seed

Bronze Fennel is a multi-purpose Cottage Garden favourite here in Norfolk. Grown for its beautiful young fronze-like leaves for the kitchen, its 6-8ft structural border filler and support abilities, but also its edible but beautiful heads of seeds in autumn.

The large flat seed heads held at 6-8ft on mature plants follow delicate pale yellow flowers, but it's the architectural value that really make it worth growing in a mixed cottage garden border.

Bronze fennel is a hardy perennial is self-supporting and produces lots of upright flower stems around 6-8-feet tall. The young folliage is deep bronze green and has a wonderfull aniseed like flavour.

Why Grow Bronze Fennel?

  • Your own supply of edible fennel seeds each autumn.
