Gardeners Cottage Blakeney Red Sorrel Salad Leaf
- An very easy to grow and reliable early spring perennial salad leaf that can be sown from March to November and once you have it in a vegetable garden you will never be without it as it reliably self-seeds. The young seedlings are easy to spot by their distinctive colour, and can be transplanted into salad beds as required.
- A great addition to salad leaf mixes with vibrant red stems and leaf veins, red sorrel is very mild when young and by using a cut and come again harvesting method the plants will continue to produce young leaves which can be harvested into July
- Mild lemon sorrel taste, not hot or peppery, mixes very well with our salad leaves and looks wonderful on the plate or in a leaf salad mix with rocket and lambs lettuce
- My personal favorite oas its perennial and keeps harvesting for years.
